Your website...wonderful!

by Lori V.

I have to take a moment to tell you how nice your website is and how you explain your directions (and pictures).

I am 46 years old, and my father taught me how to crochet when I was only 8 years old, and once he saw how 'talented' I was with my hands within a month or two, he showed me how to sew (from reading a pattern, pinning, cutting and constructing)... Mom, raising nine children never had time to teach for she was so busy. Anyhow...

I have been crocheting, and sewing ever since , not to mention when I was about 16 I taught myself to knit. I have made endless afghans, sweaters, quilts and lots of novelty items.

I have 4 children of my own, all in their teens and early 20's and they too know how to crochet, however, they are nothing like their mother...lol, but that's ok. It's not for everyone.

My most amazing thing to me tho, was this past Christmas, my son's girlfriend and my daughter's BFF (who lives right across from us)both asked me if I could teach them how to crochet.

I am very descriptive as you are when I explain things. I ALWAYS try to remember 'what it was like when I was learning'.

Both my daughter's BFF and my son's girlfriend have gone back to college from their Christmas break. The BFF actually finished her scarf, and is working on another... and my son's girlfriend is just about done with hers.

They both were worried about "Me not being right there for them if they run into a problem". I told them they would both be fine, (b/c they picked it up really well) but told them I would search for a website that has instructions that are easy to follow. Well guess what! I found it! I am going to email both of them your website! this way, just by reading your directions, you teach/explain, I swear the same way I do, that they will think I am right there with them! :-)

My son's girlfriend was impressed with my last project (I made a T-shirt quilt {sewing}; a quilt using the front logo's of a child's collected T-shirts from playing sports from Tball to High school over the years). Anyhow, she has a sewing machine too, but has never used it... she wants me to teach her sewing now too over the summer. For now though, she's really focused on the crocheting.

Again, thanks so much for creating your site.
