MATERIALS
Worsted weight yarn*: 10 (7) 3 1/2- oz/247 yd balls medium blue #30
Crochet hook size G/6 or size needed for gauge
Tapestry needle
Gauge Motif: 6" square
MOTIF (make 48, 36)
Row 1: Ch 22, dc in 4th ch from hook, *skip next 2 ch, [sc, ch 3, dc] in next ch, rep from * across, end with skip 2 ch, sc in last ch, ch 3, turn.
Row 2: Dc in first sc, *[sc, ch 3, dc] in next sc, rep from * across, end with sc in first ch of turning ch, ch 3, turn. (6 pattern repeats)
Rows 3–16: Rep Row 2.
Edging
Ch 1, [3 sc in corner st, work 16 sc evenly spaced across side] 4 times, join with sl st in first sc, fasten off.
FINISHING
Sl st or sew squares together, through back lps, having 6 squares wide by 8 squares long (6 squares by 6 squares), alternating direction of squares.
OUTER EDGING
Rnd 1: Attach yarn in center corner sc, ch 1, [3 sc in center sc, sc in each sc across side] 4 times, join with sl st in first sc, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 2: Work over sc in Rnd 1, sc in base of each sc around, inc at corners if needed, join with sl st in first sc, fasten off.
