The model was made of American Thread Company "Aunt Lydia's" Heavy Rug Yarn in the following colors: three 70 yard skeins each of yellow, beige, peach, wheat, orange, buttercup, natural, cork, cream and gold.
Use a wooden crochet hook number 13 or any size hook which will result in stitch gauge given. You may prefer to use other colors.

Each motif measures 10½ inches.
35 motifs are required for an afghan measuring 53 x 73 inches. Combine colors as follows: yellow with beige, peach with wheat, orange with buttercup, natural with cork, cream with gold.
Center: With first color of any of above color combinations ch 4, join to form a ring, * sl st in ring, 3 de in same ring, repeal, from * 3 times, join.
Rnd 2: * 3 dc in center dc, ch 3, 3 dc in same sp, sl st in sl st, repeal, from * around, join, cut yarn.
Join second color in any corner, 3 sc in same 1p (corner), working in back 1p of sts only sc in each dc and 3 sc in each corner 1p, do not join, place a marker.
Rnd 4: Working in back 1p of sts only, sc in each sc and 3 sc in center st of each corner.
Next 6 Rnds: Work same as 4th rnd, sl st to corner, cut yarn. Work 34 more motifs in same manner. Work 30 motifs of each color combination having 3 centers of first color and 3 of second color reversing border colors.
Work remaining 5 motifs in desired combinations. Sew motifs together arranging as desired.
