Knit Ski Caps I Started With
Hi,
I'm 18 years old and I've been knitting for 9 years, and crocheting for 14 years. My grandma taught me how to crochet, my mom taught me how to cast on to knit, and I taught myself how to work the knitted fabric using diagrams I found in an old encyclopedia.
My first project was a scarf for my dad. It was 7 feet long, 40sts wide on size 8 needles and was meant to be a Christmas present, but I was unable to finish it until the following April due to my inexperience.
I have advanced since then to hats, socks, sweaters and blankets. I knit socks and crochet blankets, and I'll use either to make lace doilies.
I've also taken up an interest in weaving, and have since made some crochet/weave blankets as well as pure weave dollhouse rugs.
I can knit at about 96 spm, and would love to turn my hobby into a business as a way to work at home to spend time with family and my future kids.
I'm interested in charity as well, and I am inclined to give part of my earnings to the ASPCA, products to homeless shelters and hospitals.
Happy knitting!

Hello Shelly,
You are so lucky to have learned to knit and crochet at such a young age.
This month I am adding a new “Help Wanted” page. Maybe you will want to check it out and see if there is anything that interest you. So far there are only a couple of contractors but as time goes they will come.
You have some of my favorite subjects covered here. Knitting, crochet and pets.
Best of luck to you,
Linda
