Ebay can be a moneymaking at home business that I have used for years. You can reach the whole world with ebay.

Selling on ebay may seem a bit intimating at first glance. It really isn’t because it takes you through the process step by step.

They have added a new sales category Handmade Items and it is perfect for this business. Handmade items must always be presented in a professional manner.

Do not take pictures of items on the kitchen table with stacks of mail in the background. I have seen pictures of items and in the background you see a cluttered room. You want a picture of your item with a solid color background. This way they will focus on the items, not the background.

I would never have used the photos I took back in the 80s on ebay. They are such a poor quality that they distract from the knitted product.

One expense for your moneymaking at home business should be a digital camera. Whether you sell on ebay or not, you will want a nice digital camera.

Always take pictures of any new items you create. You will want to show them to future customers or shop owners at a later date. This is one expense you will be glad you spent money on, as you will use it often.

So the first thing you need to do is set up an ebay account and than learn to use your new camera. After that you will want to write up you SOP (standard operating procedures). Such as your return policy and shipping policy and such. This information will remain the same for every auction.

A very good place to visit is the ebay community forums. You can find a great deal of information there and the folks will help you when you post a question.
