Beary Cute Jacket (Needs A Zipper)
by Meredith Mooney
(Anderson, IN USA)
I found the pattern to this jacket and thought I would challenge myself for a change because I have never done any sort of clothing before.
Thank goodness my best friend has a lot more experience at reading patterns than I do, because I had to call her on several occasions with questions.
After about 20 hours of working on this jacket (about 4 different days), I have finished everything with the exception of the button for the hood and the zipper for the front.
I have no problem finding buttons, but I can't seem to find the right ANYWHERE!!! I've looked at the websites that I know to look at and I still can't find anything.
So I thought that maybe if I came to you and described what I am looking for that hopefully one of you would be able to lead me in the right direction. I'm looking for the big toothed, plastic zipper like what you find on a small child's coat.
I haven't been able to get a picture of it yet to post on-line, but I will when I can get my hands on my daughters’ camera.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to help me find a zipper for this jacket, PLEASE???
I already have 7 people wanting me to make one for them but I can't do that if I can't find the right pieces to finish putting them together.
I would really appreciate any sort of help that anyone can provide at this point.
Thank You very much!!!

Hello Meredith,
Isn't it exciting when you complete a project and you get orders for similar items? I admire you for trying new items. Sometimes we get in a rut and are afraid to venture into more challenging projects. Here are three places to check out. I found lots of zippers at CreateForLess, Fabric.com

and Joann.com

I found a large selection of all types and size zippers in these stores. Hope you what you need for the jackets. If not maybe some of our visitors have ideas to share.
I hope you will also send us a picture of the completed jacket. Hey nothing like free advertising right? I will put it up for you to show the world. Are you going to put it in your etsy store? If so I could put a link directly to it along with the picture.
You forgot to mention if the jacket was crocheted or knitted for a child or adult. Either way I sure am looking forward to seeing it.
Linda
